Blood and urine laboratory work is often needed in cases of emergency, prior to surgical procedures or even for wellness check-ups. At Animal Medical Center we have a complete in-house laboratory at our disposal. We are able to rapidly diagnose sick patients and begin treatment or know if a patient is able to undergo general anesthesia. We can determine how your pet's kidneys and liver are doing, how their pancreas is functioning, how their thyroid is working, if they have a urinary tract infection and even tell if they are anemic.
Some advanced laboratory blood, urine and tissue tests require a reference laboratory. All tests are sent daily and results are typically returned within 24 hours. Some take longer. These tests may include Valley Fever titers, special tests for metabolic diseases, cultures or biopsies.
